The Department of DVL at BTGH, Gulbarga was started in the year 1988 with one MD and one DVD under the guidance of Dr. P M Biradar. Over 26 years, several dermatologists have graduated from the prestigious M R Medical College.
Under the guidance of Dr. P M Biradar, the department organized the South Zone Conference in 1993.
The department regularly conducts Psoriasis Day, Leprosy Day, health camps at PHCs, and CMEs for continuous staff and student development. Staff and postgraduates actively participate in academic activities, including paper and poster presentations at state, national, and international levels.
Modern equipment includes Laser, Dermabrasion, PUVA, and NBUVB (Phototherapy), and services like PRP therapy, electrosurgical procedures, vitiligo surgeries, chemical peels, Botox, and ICTC for HIV are offered.
