Welcome to MRMC, Central Library
The HKE Society's Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College, Central Library was established in the year 1963 with the objective to serve the information needs of students and faculty members of the Institute.
The library is situated on the 2nd floor of the college campus, with over 300 students/staff seating capacity with elegant modular furniture and central air conditioning system.
The library has a collection of 30,660 books of Foreign and Indian authors with reference books like Handbooks, Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias and coloured atlases etc.
The library also has 500+ CDs/DVDs and subscribes to printed National and International journals.
HELINET (Health Science Library & Information Network)
The major e-resource offered by the Central Library's digital library initiative provides access to e-journals, e-books with videos and databases such as EBSCO, J-Gate, ProQuest, ClinicalKey, Jaypee Digital, Thieme and UpToDate on various subjects related to medical sciences.
These resources are provided under the HELINET consortium by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore.
The library has 50 computers for access to digital resources and Internet facilities.
The library is in constant touch with RGUHS and actively interacts with teaching departments and faculty to develop essential collections of resources.
Library Timings
Regular working days: 09:00 AM to 09:00 PM
UG & PG Examination: Before one month, the library functions from 09:00 AM to 11:00 PM on all working days.
Sundays and Holidays: 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM
Access to Library
- All the Students/Staff Members of the Institute.
- Visitors are eligible to use library facilities provided they are permitted by the Dean/Principal.
- Entry to the library is allowed to students/faculty members carrying Identity Card of MRMC.
- Central Library has open access system.
- All the shelves are properly cited with subject citations.
- Books can be carried by the users themselves. Help of the library staff can be asked to take out the books.
- Personal belongings of the users should be kept in property counter outside of the library.
- Reading material is not to be kept back in shelves after use. It is to be left on the circulation table for the library staff to stack properly.
- Permanent faculty members & Post Graduate students can borrow three books for the period of one month.
- Teaching Department can borrow books for ready reference.
- A proper record has to be maintained by the Department for the books that are issued and the Department will be responsible for them.
Social Welfare (SC/ST Book Bank)
The library issues the books under SC/ST Book Bank scheme to the SC/ST students only.
This service is without any charges. The students are required to produce their college ID card for availing this facility.
